Ballistics and Fire Bombs

Ballistic (Firearms) Attacks:

With the large degree of (drive by) and / or (prank) related shootings, firearms attacks are a major cause for concern. The result of a bullet hitting a pane of glass is similar to that of any other object only with more intense compacted velocity. The glass violently explodes and the projectile is not slowed much. GSS has done extensive testing in the area of ballistics and glass protection, when GSS' film is add, glass takes on bullet resistant properties aiding in glass protection and in some cases even reducing the penetrating bullet to what is know as a "non-lethal" penetration. Depending on the type of glass, thickness of glass and GSS product that are used, glass can be strengthened up to the point of resisting up to AK-47 (7.62) rounds and passing N.I.J standards for that level of protection. Just remember there is no such thing as bullet proof glass, only bullet resistant. Be careful of anyone that has other claims.

GSS has continued to do extensive research in the area of glass protection and ballistic, bullet or gunfire, GSS can offer several different means of protecting your home, business and commercial buildings with ballistic polycarbonates, laminated glass and ballistic glass setups.

Fire Bombs:

While it is not a common method of attack in the U.S., firebombs, (commonly referred to as Molotov Cocktails) constitute a very real threat by the very nature of the damage they can cause. GSS products, when applied to windows at risk creates a impact resistant barrier between the outside and inside of the building, thus preventing the firebomb from penetrating the window, thereby protecting the glass with GSS' products will help prevent the resultant fire bomb from entering inside thru the glass.

On glass treated with GSS' film products the firebomb now will normally burst into flames on the exterior of the building or just bounce off of the glass thereby confining any damage to the outside. Most of GSS' film have a fire/burn rating of 500 degrees Celsius. GSS' glass protection products help in protecting lives and property in these type of conditions.
